Award Categories

i. Corporate Achievements

IFTA Fintech and Innovation Awards 2021/2022 welcomes applications for publicly listed companies, private corporates, start-ups and NGOs for their achievements in FinTech and Innovation. Teams may also make joint submissions. Each submission must refer to a specific project or solution that is used in the Greater Bay Area.

CATEGORIES

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

1

RegTech

The project(s) or solution(s) must primarily focus on helping end-users navigate regulatory requirements.

2

InsurTech

The project(s) or solution(s) must primarily focus on helping end-users (companies or end-user customers) with insurance products or policies.

3

Payment Tech

The project(s) or solution(s) must primarily focus on helping with payment processing, on either the business side or customer side.

4

Blockchain, Cryptocurrency and CEP (Cryptoasset Exchange Providers)

Major function of the project(s) or solution(s) must be related to purchasing, trading or managing cryptocurrencies.

Banking Tech

Major function of the project(s) or solution(s) must be related to banking services and/or bank accounts with considerations on adopting FinTech 2025 Strategy*.

*Suggested by Hong Kong Monetary Authority which aims to encourage effective technological adoption in the financial sector by 2025, and to promote the provision of fair and efficient financial services for the benefit of Hong Kong citizens.

WealthTech

Major function of the project(s) or solution(s) must be providing an investment and wealth management platform with analytic tools, including eMPF and digital asset

Metaverse, NFT, And DeFi (Decentralised Finance)

Major function of the project(s) or solution(s) are rooted in the blockchain ecosystem. These could involve blockchain technology facilitating the trade, engagement, and interaction of digital assets through the tokenisation of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens).

ArtTech

Major function of the project(s) or solution(s) must utilise emerging technologies to create platform(s) for digital art, culture, and its trade. Notable examples may include copyright management, content creation, virtual idols, and forms of immersive digital art experiences.

Others

This category awards any innovative project that falls under FinTech, but does not apply to any of the categories above.

 

ii. Outstanding Financial Technologists of the Year

IFTA FinTech and Innovation Awards 2021/2022 is open for applications for individuals for their outstanding achievements in financial technology industry. Quantifiable results (e.g. driving business growth), finance and/or technology innovation, and community engagement will all be considered.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Leader of the Year

Recognising company founders, shareholding directors, or C-suite executives for their contributions and achievements.

There will be one for each type of company: listed companies, private corporations, and start-ups.

Rising Star of the Year

Recognising young professionals in any company, on or below age 35, for their industry contributions and achievements.

There will be one for each type of company: listed companies, private corporations, and start-ups.

Star in the Making

Recognising students (undergraduate or postgraduate) for innovative projects or ideas that could positively transform the FinTech industry.

4

Team of the Year

Recognising corporate teams/project teams who have made significant contributions within their respective industries through the implementation of FinTech solutions.

 

iii. The Honorary Award (by invitation only)

Iconic Star(s)

Recognising professional(s) who have devoted their lifetime, creating extraordinary impacts on the FinTech environment with success stories to share.

Corporate of the Year

Recognising corporate(s) who have an exemplary performance within the FinTech space that inspires others to follow suit and have a significant impact to Hong Kong.

 

iv. The Honorary Award (Open for Application)

APPLICATION REQUIREMENT

Honorary FinTech Education & Talent Development Awards

Recognizing corporates, start-ups, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), non-profit organisations (NPOs) such as schools, professional bodies, charities, social enterprises, etc, as well as individuals in providing public FinTech education to the community on a pro bono basis

 

Open to all corporates, NGOs, NPOs, organisation, institutions who have invested, undertaken, or completed their FinTech education tasks and /or promoted FinTech talent development between 1 January 2021 and 27 May 2022.
