As Executive Director of the MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node, Charleston Sin leads the effort to organize, champion, and advocate for innovation in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. As a 25-year veteran of the Information technology and telecommunications industry, he now unites his passion for education with innovation & technology, encouraging disruptive application of new technology in the local community and beyond.

Prior to joining MIT, Sin held executive positions in Research & Development, Product Management, and Sales & Marketing at VMware, Cisco Systems, and Nortel Networks in United States, Canada, Asia Pacific, and Greater China. His primary interests lie in key market transition trends, including Fintech, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Mobility, IOT, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and new business models.

Sin received his PhD in Management Sciences at The University of Waterloo. He also holds a master’s degree in Investment Management at the HKUST. Currently, he is member of the board of director of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company.

Emil is a FinTech evangelist with over 20 years experience in managing IT and business transformation projects in international financial institutions. He had worked for several sizeable international banks including Credit Suisse and BayernLB as the roles of First Vice President, Head of IT in Asia Pacific, Project Director and Operations Manager AP. He has extensive experience in both Business and IT consulting encompassing the design, setup, leading and managing of cross-border projects throughout Asia.

In the past 10 years, he participated actively in voluntary community services in related to the popularization of technology. He is the founding Chairman of the Association of Cloud and Mobile Computing Professionals, The FinTech Committee Chairman of the Smart City Consortium and the Honorary Chairman of StartHK promoting proper usage of Cloud and Mobile as well as the adoption of startup culture in Hong Kong. He is the member of the Final Judging Panel of Hong Kong ICT Awards and Chief Judge of the ICT Startup Award 2019. He also sits on the board of The Smart City Consortium as the FinTech Committee Chair. Emil also hosts seminars, delivers public speeches and publishes articles of FinTech related topics on local newspapers and interviewed by various media from time to time.

Eric Chan is the Chief Public Mission Officer of Hong Kong Cyberport. Ir. Chan oversees the ecosystem dedicated to cultivating start-ups and inspiring the next generation through nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit, empowering global ambition, and providing comprehensive entrepreneurship programmes and early stage funding.

Ir. Chan has 32 years of experience in the ICT industry, and is a chartered engineer, a chartered marketer and a fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (UK). Prior to joining Cyberport, he was a Director of HGC Global Communication; and held various senior positions in global telecom and IT services companies. Ir. Chan has been active in public services, especially in education and industrial training, professional bodies and charitable organisations.

Ir. Chan holds a BSc. (Hon) degree in Engineering from University of London, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Manchester Business School, and received Executive Education from INSEAD and IESE business schools.

Dr Henry Chan received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Cambridge, England, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is currently an Associate Professor and Associate Head of the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He has co-authored a textbook on e-commerce and research papers in various journals.

Dr Chan was the recipient of the 2015 IEEE Computer Society Computer Science and Engineering Undergraduate Teaching Award ("for outstanding contributions to computing education through teaching, mentoring students and service to the education community"). At PolyU, he has received four President's Awards.

Mr. Chan Wing Fung Raymond was appointed the Managing Director of 9F International Holdings, a subsidiary of 9F Group (NASDAQ: JFU), in October 2018 and is responsible for applying both the Virtual Banking license and Digital Insurance license in Hong Kong, “Tech Enabling” to Hong Kong and Southeast Asia markets, and expanding the base of overseas Fintech Ecosystem partners.

Raymond is an active speaker and practitioner in fintech areas including Virtual Bank, eKYC, eID, Open API, Mobile Payment and Cross-Border Banking. He has successfully launched “inMotion”, the first truly remote bank account opening mobile app in Hong Kong without the need to visit branches and submit signature and address proof, alongside with many first-in-Hong Kong fintech initiatives.

Raymond has been working in the banking industry for more than 25 years, with 20 years in supervisory and management positions of international, European and Chinese banks. Before joining 9F International, he was Executive Deputy General Manager of China CITIC Bank International and Head of Marketing & Business Strategy of ICBC (Asia). His career experience covers many areas in banking including department head of e-Business, Marketing, Branch Network, Call Centre, Sales & Distribution and Business Support. The early stage of his career also covered IT and technical services in a global bank.

With 27 years of real estate investment & finance, listed company merger & acquisition experience in the regional capital market, Dr. Chan had not only participated in over 22 trophy mix-used complexes in landmark metropolis in Asia, but also closed over USD2billion corporate deals in the area of private & public equity investment, corporate restructuring & asset injection, and IPO spin-off exercises, during the appointment as Fund Management Director in Grosvenor Asia Pacific (2008-2013) and Investment Director in Tianjin Development Holdings (1998-2008).

Dr. Chan started his own business by establishing “Howah Capital Limited” in 2013 and “HSL Capital” in 2014 to serve as investment & financial advisor for financial institution & corporate owners in the area, particular in the business segments of real estate, infrastructure, financial service and mobile internet application. In 2015, HSL Capital successfully raised its first fund and fully invested in a landmark project in core CBD of Shanghai at the cost of US$140 million. HSL Capital’s total asset under management (AUM) is now over USD600 million with primarily investment focus on urban regeneration office projects located at city-centre of Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen & Hong Kong. Dr. Chen also founded “Howard Technology Venture” in 2018, which mainly develops SME investment business related to environmental protection applications, smart cities and fintech in the Greater China region, and assists corresponding companies in market development, corporate governance and capital operation before listing.

Dr. Chau is currently the Director of Hong Kong, Macao, and Cross-border Financial Affairs at Tencent. Before joining Tencent, she was a Senior Lecturer at the HK Baptist University, within the School of Business. Dr. Chau was also the Director of the new Master in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics), bringing together the best minds and leaders in Finance, FinTech, A.I., RegTech, Privacy and Cybersecurity. With over 8 years in this space, Dr. Chau is a seasoned FinTech professional with a strong reputation as being an industry and academic liaison. Mr Johnson Ng is the Senior Service Promotion Manager of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation responsible for promoting and developing Hong Kong’s trade in the areas of products and services.

Since Mr Ng started his career with the Council in 1997, he has assumed different roles at the HKTDC overseeing a wide variety of trade promotion activities. He was posted to the HKTDC’s Frankfurt and Los Angeles branch offices in 1999 and 2003 respectively, taking charge of numerous trade promotion programme initiatives in Germany and the USA. He was then appointed as Senior Exhibitions Manager and later as Senior Manager of the Publications & E-Commerce Department. He spearheaded promotion and development of the HKTDC’s trade fairs and integrated marketplace for international trade buyer and suppliers during his tenures in the two departments.

In his present position, Mr Ng is responsible for formulating and implementing the HKTDC’s promotion programme of Hong Kong’s professional and financial services. He oversees HKTDC’s annual flagship projects in promoting the related sectors including the Asian Financial Forum and “Think Asia, Think Hong Kong” campaigns. He also takes charge of promoting Hong Kong as the bridgehead for Chinese outbound investment.
